Have you ever considered why television commercials always want you to “Act now!”? What about car salesman? Why are they so insistent that you buy now? It is because they know that you are most likely to buy if you take immediate action towards it. Otherwise, when you postpone, put off, or delay a purchase then doubts start to creep into your mind and the probability that you will buy goes down significantly. If given the time, you start wondering, “Is this the best price?”, “Do I really need this?”, and “Can I afford it?”. This is exactly the behavior you desire when trying to avoid frivolous purchases, but you can also use this to your advantage.
In order to maximize your success in every area of life, learn to take action on your ideas immediately. The sooner you act, the more likely you are to be successful. Delay leads to self-doubt which leads to all kinds of negative thoughts. This is usually where the idea dies. The antidote to this situation is to take action immediately before you allow this train of thought to get started. You can take advantage of what marketers know so well and use immediate action to super-charge your life.
Please do not get me wrong. I’m not advising that you go off half-cocked. Part of taking action on an idea is researching it properly. If you want to start a business, then take action conducting market research to determine if your business idea has merit. Even if your idea does not pan out, the research may lead you to another idea that will. However, if you do nothing, then that is exactly what will come from it, nothing. Take a few hours, create a list of baby steps toward achieving your goal and then immediately execute the first step.
Don’t let your latest idea die on the vine. How often have you had an idea, but procrastinated on it to later find that someone else took action and experienced great success with just what you wanted to do? Don’t let that happen again. Act now!

Good afternoon Jeff,
Great post. Great one.
Having a bias for action is one of the main ingredients for success.
Napoleon Hill once observed that successful people make decisions quickly, once all the needed information is available, but they change their minds very slowly (if ever).
Unsuccessful people take a long time to make a decision and they change it again and again.
Sounds like a boss I once had . . .:)
