I use the I'm too tired all the time. I love exercising and being active, but sometimes get in lazy moods. A lot depends on weather and time I can get to gym, but I have been lazy and held off for a few days.

Nice article Jeff,

The weird thing about our tendency to make excuses is that once we are actually exercising it’s enjoyable. Then we ask ourselves, “why did I put this off, it feels great.” One thing I know from experience, convenience is not really a factor. When I had to drive for 30 minutes to get to the gym I rarely missed a workout. Once I built my own gym right next to the house I started missing workouts. The key is to develop a habit and stick to it. The more often we push excuses aside the easier it becomes.

@Nicki - We truly only act on what we feel is important. Sadly, attending to our health often isn't an urgent issue and gets ignored. It really doesn't take much to add quality and quantity to our lives. Hopefully, this will help some people take the necessary initiative!

@Glen - It seems that many things in life are that way. We often resist doing what is really in our best interest. It is odd how our brains work in this messed up way so often!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

There are soem great tips here Jeff. Funnily one of the best things for us to do (be active, exercise) is actually one of the hardest things to motivate ourselves for.

Cheers,
Glen

There were a couple key statements in there that really sum it up: You'll always make time for what's important to you & The hardest part is getting started. So true!
