Jeff, nice list of quotes you’ve compiled, very inspirational. As a young twenty something the virtue of patience is still something I’m working on, but the quote that helps me the most in this regard is by President Coolidge:

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan
‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

It’s amazing to think that the power of persistence is how rivers can cut through mountains.

Here’s also a great video about persistence from Zig Ziglar about “pumping the well” which has helped quite a bit.

Steve – You are so right! You absolutely have to be persistent in your march toward success by taking daily action toward your goal. However, you also have to be patient. You have give your effort time to produce the harvest you desire. It is this combination of patient persistence that will lead you to success. Thanks for helping to clarify my point!
