Thinking about the economy, politics, & gas prices

Welcome to the weekend!  It has certainly been a wild ride in the economy lately.  This is probably the understatement of the week in the blogosphere!  Is there an award for that?

It is hard to avoid checking everyday to see what is going on with the stock market.  Of course, the best thing to do is ignore all the over-sensationalized hype coming from the media and our politicians.

Panic and fear are our two greatest enemies in the current economic situation.  As long as everyone doesn’t overreact, then I feel confident that the economy will eventually rebound.  Fortunately, I’m in the market for the long-haul.  I’m just buying stocks at a huge discount right now in my 401k.  Wahoo!

I’m ready for the Presidential election to come and go.  I’ve heard about all I can tolerate from the two candidates.  In the words of Toby Keith, I’m ready for “a little less talk and a lot more action.”  Let’s hurry up and vote!

On the good news side of things, gas prices are down.  I saw two stations offering $2.39 a gallon on Friday.  At least we are getting some relief at the pump.  Okay, enough of my ramblings, let’s get to the good stuff.
