It really takes guts to put it all out there, so good for you. I read your list of mistakes in running a business, too. That was useful for me, as I contemplate starting up my own company. I think the biggest problem in making mistakes is the cognitive dissonance that makes people resist accepting and learning from their errors. We don't want to think that we are stupid, so we can't admit to making a stupid decision. And the more we invest in something, (financially or otherwise) the more stubborn we get and the harder it is to admit that we were wrong. But that just gets us deeper in the hole. Refusing to accept our mistakes only ensure we will continue to make them. I agree completely that we acknowledge what we've done, so we can turn around.

I loved your number 5! So true ...
Mistakes are just part of being human. So far as I know, there's only one person who has never made any mistakes ... that would be my wife!

I have been reflecting on my mistakes lately. I think making mistakes is what makes us stronger, as long as we learn from them. I will be using this post as my Top Pick in the near future! Thanks for sharing your mistakes with us!

Great post. I have probably made mistakes in all the categories you have listed above. Live and Learn is my motto. Also, a good apology is key!

Great article. The traps you listed are traps that millions of people fall into. The only difference between success and failure is the decision to make another attempt.
