Reduce Stress And Increase Energy Simply and Naturally
We must take care of our bodies to live the good life. Life is hectic which causes a build up of stress. Stress robs us of our energy. When we feel stressed out and lack energy, then we start feeling tired, irritable, unmotivated, cranky, negative, and unproductive. This is no way to live the good life! We have to manage our stress and energy in order to live life to the fullest.
Three things you can do for stress and energy
I seem to harbor stress so I am always on the lookout for ways to manage it. However, I want the solutions to be easy, natural and effective. I find the following three suggestions work for me.
Before going any further, let me say that I am not a doctor so I would certainly recommend consulting a physician before pursuing these or any other strategies that may have a health impact. This works for me, but it may not work for you.
1. Take a few vitamin supplements
I don’t believe in strict vitamin regimens that have you taking handfuls of supplements a day. However, I do think that taking a few vitamins helps to increase my energy and stamina. Here’s what I take:
Good multivitamin - Taking a multivitamin avoids deficiencies that can make you feel drained and lazy. A vitamin is not a substitute for eating right, but it does insure we aren’t missing important things our body needs to perform at its peak.
B complex vitamin - B complex vitamins help you in a number of ways. According to Psychology Today and others, B complex vitamins help to fight fatigue, irritability, poor concentration, anxiety and depression. They help your body to convert the food you eat into energy.
When I take these vitamins I definitely notice a difference in my overall energy level, ability to concentrate, and in my stamina throughout the day. Taking these vitamins is not expensive either. I bought a 100-day supply at Target last weekend for about ten bucks.
2. Drink plenty of good, old-fashioned water
When your body is even slightly dehydrated, it causes a reduction in blood volume, which leads to less oxygen traveling to your muscles. This makes you feel tired.
The best advice on hydration is to proactively drink water throughout the day to keep yourself properly hydrated. You should begin your day by drinking a couple of glasses of water in the morning. This will get you started on the right foot.
You should then strive to drink eight to ten 8-ounce glasses of water daily to keep yourself properly hydrated. Also, you should avoid sodas, tea and coffee with caffeine which cause your body to lose water. Alcoholic drinks will also dehydrate you. It is suggested that you drink one glass of water for every glass of alcohol.
I probably don’t drink as much water as is recommended, but I do try to keep myself hydrated. It certainly makes a difference in the way I feel. I never realized just how much impact something as simple as drinking more water could have on my energy level.
3. Give your body a workout
The best way that I have found to relieve stress is to exercise. When I’m tired at the end of the day and feel tense from the day’s demands, I admit that the thought of exercise is not appealing.
However, if I force myself to go ride the exercise bike for even 20 minutes, I feel tremendously better. The stress and tension disappear. I sleep better which helps my energy level the next day.
The reason that exercise works so well at relieving stress is because it causes the brain to start releasing endorphins. These are powerful chemicals that are the brain’s natural pain relievers. They help your body to relax.
As I said earlier, stress tends to build up in my body and I don’t know what I would do without exercise. I can’t say enough about how much better it makes me feel.
Tremendous benefits from three cheap and easy things
I have derived tremendous benefit from just doing these three things. I feel better, have more energy, sleep more soundly, and get more done. They definitely help me to reduce stress and increase my energy level.
I love it when I find such easy and inexpensive solutions to the big issues in my life! I hope you can benefit from this as well.

Great tips to keep your energy up. I ignored this simple advice for years and what a difference it made to my overall health when I committed to them again! Water is huge. Most people are constantly dehydrated and fatigued. A few extra glasses of H2O each day is sometimes all it takes to boost your energy again.

I’m also going to start a new program myself to stretch and exercise every day. I realize that my once or twice a week routine is not good enough to prepare for an upcoming vacation trip. I also have a tendency to forget taking my vitamin supplements. Off to take them now!!
