Super-Charged Living: How To Live Life To Its Fullest
Are you living life to its fullest?
In order to answer this question, you have to know what it means. What does living life to its fullest look like?
For me, it means fully experiencing every good thing that life has to offer. It means squeezing the marrow out of life to have the best life possible. Not in some selfish, irresponsible or immature way, but in a way that creates significance and joy in life.
I call this way of life: super-charged living.
How does one live a super-charged life? Well, that is what I write about on this site. That’s the journey I’m on — to discover how to live life to its fullest. I’m not there yet, in fact, I doubt I’ll ever really fully achieve what I’m striving for, but I’m not giving up and I hope you’ll join me in my quest.
A review of the seven key characteristics of super-charged living
When I started this blog about a year and a half ago, I stated that there are seven key characteristics or areas of living that comprise a super-charged life. The good news is that I still believe today that these hold true.
Of course, my understanding of these has broaden and deepened over time, but the basic premise behind each one still holds true. Since, it has been awhile, I thought I’d review and elaborate on each of the seven key characteristics of super-charged living today.
Here they are:
1. Striving for excellence
Becoming the very best “you” that you can be has a lot to do with living life to its fullest. Living a life of excellence opens doors of opportunity, breaks down internal and external barriers and sets you in motion to achieve your goals.
In my search for personal excellence, I have explored continuous self-improvement, goal setting, how to achieve success, motivation, good habits, personal responsibility and positive thinking among other things. All of these have aided me in continuing down the path to a better life.
In my mind, it is impossible to truly experience all that life has to offer without striving for excellence on a daily basis.
2. Being financially wise
Life takes money. Being wise with your resources provides a level of financial independence that enables one to pursue their greatest desires in life. Financial wisdom is about freedom and unlocking doors to new experiences.
I believe the best way to achieve financial independence is to become debt-free. I paid off what I owed by living on a budget, using a debt snowball and avoiding bad money habits. These strategies have paid off for me and now I have more options available in my pursuit of a better life.
3. Committed to a cause
You don’t want to climb the ladder of success only to find it was leaning against the wrong wall. Committing yourself to one or more worthwhile causes helps ensure that your life has significance and meaning. It keeps one from becoming self-absorbed.
There are a ton of causes you can devote yourself to furthering. They range from raising your own family to becoming a virtual volunteer online. This area of super-charged living also deals with personal health, simplicity, charitable giving and spirituality.
Committing yourself to a cause adds value to your life beyond what you might expect. There is a deep joy and sense of satisfaction that comes from knowing that you contributed to something that benefited others and the world at large.
4. Leading by example
This world needs some good role models. It needs people willing to accept personal responsibility for their actions. It also needs those that will stand up and teach others how to behave respectfully, dutifully and responsibly in life.
Leadership requires one to demonstrate a level of commitment even when times are tough. It encourages others to stand strong and to take the high road in their dealings with the people in their life.
Leading by example is essentially a way of passing along super-charged living to those around you.
5. Having an entrepreneurial spirit
The dictionary defines an entrepreneur as a person that initiates any enterprise that involves considerable risk. In order to live life to its fullest, you have to be willing to take risks. You have to step out of your comfort zone and reach for the next rung on the ladder.
It is true that a facet of entrepreneurship is owning your own business, but that’s not all that I’m concerned with as it relates to super-charged living. I am really more focused on the entrepreneurial attitude or spirit.
I believe you can embrace this spirit even if you work for somebody else. It is more about how you approach life and the opportunities that arise. Are you willing to stick your neck out and make things happen? This is essential to super-charged living!
6. Learning continuously
When you quit learning, you become stagnant. You stop growing. It is impossible in my mind to live life to the fullest while standing still. You have to be continuously seeking new understanding and experiences.
I pursue knowledge by reading, traveling and engaging in new activities. I never want to stop learning new things. Of course, you have to be open to change to be a continual learner because true learning results in changed behavior. It changes how you see and react to the world.
7. Seeking adventure
Finally, I believe that you have to seek adventure in life to live it to its fullest. Of course, for me, this relates to traveling and engaging in certain types of activities like scuba diving, hiking, camping and kayaking.
However, I also believe that you can approach every day and experience with a sense of adventure. You can keep your mind open to the opportunities that every new situation and challenge presents.
Seeking adventure is also about challenging yourself and pushing through your fear. It builds your confidence and makes you feel alive!
Embrace super-charged living for a great life!
I am still a believer that these seven key characteristics mark the way to the best life possible. I will continue writing about them and sharing my experience as I proceed with my journey in super-charged living.

Life takes money… glad you included that! I think the journey will take alot longer if one pretends money will just take care of itself… yes, it would be possible, but I think it makes the process riskier.

@MoneyEnergy – Some deny it or want to anyway, but life does take money and being able to create a margin between what you need to live and what you make is critical to living a full and satisfying life.
@valerie – Glad to hear that my virtual volunteering article provided some useful information for you. It is a great way to get committed to a cause!
@Positively – Thanks! There are a lot of aspects to a super-charged life. One key is to realize that life is a journey. You can’t do all these things at once. Do what feels right and fits your lifestyle right now. Opportunities will present themselves for you to pursue other areas of super-charged living later.
I greatly appreciate all your wonderful comments!
