Use iGoogle for At-a-Glance Feed Reading
Did you know that Google offers a personalized home page that you can customize to be an at-a-glance feed reader? It is called iGoogle and the image below is an example. Once you register, you can create your own home page by adding gadgets of all kinds. A lot of the gadgets are gimmicky, but I find using iGoogle to display a variety of RSS feeds is very useful. I use iGoogle as my default home page. This gives me the ability to check the last few headlines from all my favorite feeds at-a-glance each time I open my browser. iGoogle even allows you to create different tabs so you can prioritize your feeds. I put the feeds I like or need the most on the home tab and then create other named tabs for my less important feeds that I only refer to from time-to-time.
When you “Add Stuff” to your iGoogle page, there are a variety of RSS feed gadgets that you can use, but I prefer using the “Add Feed or Gadget” link in the left column of the page. This allows you to enter the URL of the feed you desire displaying it on your iGoogle home page. This seems to give the cleanest and fastest display of feeds.Set up your iGoogle page now and be sure to add this blog to your home page!
